my 2008 ford f350 6.4l will not turn over. The relay in the passanger side fuel box clicks but will not start. I keep getting the continues code p1000 saying "monitor checks not complete". what can i do?
Had this happen one time with mine. The gear selector was not all the way in park so the park/nutral switch was not activated. I cycled the gear selector and no problems.
check the connections under the coolant jug, ive seen them wiggle loose of just plain have a bad connection, usually i just wiggle and/or disconnect or reconnect and try to start. also make sure battery voltage is up
I tried the shifter and all the cables are good. It started after i replaced a bad temp sensor on the dpf. After I shut it down it wuld not start and I am not getting any new codes. The p1000 code is cleared.
next i would say you are going to need a scanner and make sure your ICP(injector crank pressure) is above 2500 while cranking. If no dtcs than perform self test, if test passes than check your fuel quality/ low presure, make sure your fuel pump on the frame is working, and perform a general maintenance-check oil and fuel filter(s) replace if milage is due. If you ran her low on fuel you may need to bleed the high pressure system of air at the fuel cooler. Start there and let me know

Yep! I think you need t clarify what you're saying here. In my part of the country, won't turn over means the starter does not crank the engine. For others of you it means the engine cranks but does not start and run.
i saw earlier in your post you said you got it to start after you replaced a bad temp sensor, how did you find your bad sensor? thought you only had p1000 codes. Are you running a chip or program? High exhaust temps will cause your sensors to burn up or excessive regen. what is your typical drive cycle. Maybe you have more than one bad sensor. There is new calibrations out at the dealer that my help if you have excessive regen.

So bring us up to speed on yours..you have a no start? But it will crank and no code with the key in the on position?
I'm having a similar problem. My 6.4 will crank but not start. No codes found. I recently replaced the fuel filters and did an oil change. Primed as directed and then drove the truck two times for about 20 miles. During the drive it gave me a message saying CLEANING EXHAUST FILTERS. I could hear the turbo was spooling up but then it would hiss and the turbo would decrease about 25% of the normal boost. I checked the oil when I got back home and it was overfilled. I drained 2-3 qts. Now I turn the key and get a buzzing from the little motor that is mounted on top of the fuse box (under the hood on the drivers side.)
No codes are found (but I disconnected the battery earlier and before I realized I was going to need to test for codes)
The wrench symbol is on in the message center.
Can someone help me? Also, this is my first diesel so you may have to be specific with where parts are located or how to test a part.
You need a good snap on scanner, IDS, or AE to read those codes... Stop trying to start it and get it to a shop. Or get your hands on a scanner that can read the "hidden" codes.
