this my be a ridiculous question...but how can you tell if you have a 'drone?'
I ride my GSXR1000 a whole bunch and the exhaust system has no 'packing' and is thus a straight through system....
With that said...I equate total sound for exhaust...where does it drone or why? I thought that was supposed to sound like that...isn't the whole point of getting rid of the "water heater" exhaust that FORD puts on? Sound???

I get a little drone but can't here it over my stereo.
I just posted a couple sounds clips of the WickedFlow MAX I had installed. The installer put it at the same location as the stock muffler was and added pipe after it.
batteriesNotINCL, I'm calling drone the annoying alomost vibration sound in the cab at around 2000rpm, that rings your ears. I like loud exhaust and have had quite a few diff systems on diff trucks and most of them were alot louder than my current one, but not louder in the cab. I like the sound to come out the tailpipes.
I see the specs on your truck and see that you have a super40 and aem intake, so I'm pretty sure you know what drone sound likes.
ah...got into my friends truck with about the same mods...My truck is like 20x more sound resistant.....
My floor board,Rear Wall were double Dynamatted...while the rest of the cab(roof, all 4 doors, and "firewall") was single layered the day after I bought it. I think that has a lot to do with my "low drone" in the cab. I would suggest dynamatting your truck! It helps with road noise as well as insulation for the A/C which is a big deal in TX, and helped keep heat in the cold Colorado MNTS while snowboarding!!!
