So I bought a 93 Nissan Sentra for 150 bucks that needed a little bit of work. Got most of it done and I am almost ready to sell the lil thing. All it needs now is 2 tires and front brakes. But I cant accomplish either of these things with these lug nuts. I have been looking around and asking around at all the auto parts stores and a few tire stores here in town and nobody has been much help. They all say that I have to bring it in which is impossible since one tire has a big ole cut in it. So can anybody here help me find a key for these?
Here is a picture of the problem.
Usually an impact socket a big hammer and then an impact gun will get them off. Just pound the impact socket onas far as you can get itthen use the gun to spin em.
Then I would have to pay 2 bucks to get in to pick and pull and see if I can get all 20 lug nuts in my pocket... Trying to do this on the cheap. I will give it hell tomorrow thanks!
what you have there is an idiot. there is only suposed to be one of those on each wheel. and you cant buy the key seperate, they do this so someone couldnt just buy all the keys and steal rims. the best way is as described before, impact socket and big hammer. with that style you might be able to get a 12 point socket to bite enough to get them off with out beating it on but i doubt it.
The guy I bought it from got a socket stuck on there really good. But it didnt grab at all. You can see the rusted lug in the picture. Ill see what I can do tomorrow. Thanks again
my nephew had a toy yoda with the same stupid lig nuts on it, and no key.
a 12 point socket and hammer to get it off.
once you get it off, you will need to drive the nut out of the socket. (this will be the hardeat part of the job)
once you get those stupid lug nuts off throw them away, and just buy standard lugnuts for the car.
I used to have one of those sockets that formed itself around whatever it was that you were putting it on. It worked like a charm on those. It's kinda hard to describe though.
I just got them off!!! Bought a craftsman nut remover set, the #12 worked like a charm, kinda scratched up the rims though. Oh well. I saw one of those gator grip sockets when I was at the hardware store, was tempted to try it, but bought a new craftsman slim 1/4'' drive ratchet instead. Thanks guys!
Went and bought some normal lug nuts to replace them with. Them tuner lugs were on there for a reason, not enough clearance for normal lugs. Again and again. Anybody what to trade some american racing 16's for some stock 14'' stealies?
