I have been on ITP's site. I am planning on buying a regulated return soon.....
I was wondering after reading about the AIRDOG and how it removes all the air from the fuel, quiets the injectors, smooths out the engine etc...if it worth the purchase?
I have a stock injectored truck with alot of bolt on stuff and a HP tune. I am really into longevity mods for my truck and some HP stuff. Is this something that would help my truck and prolong injector life?
but if i were you since you going to be doing an RR i would do the intank mod, like ITP or somthing like that, to bypass the weak pickup in the system. that RR, airdog and pickup will prolong the life of the injectors, higher pressure will help atomise fuel, and give you few extra HP. i think its worth the money.
i hope somone will help you with airdog
I am kind of lost when you speak of the intank mod...are you talking about the 5/8" pickup tube? If so, it states on the website that that mod is NOT recommended with a stock pump....maybe you can clarify?
I looked at the site again. I think you are talking about the intank mod that is also used with the 7.3...it includes a pickup tube, filter base etc?
The airdog and that kit are not recommended together...I think it would be redundant.
The more and more I read from ITP's site, the more I really think the airdog system and RR together are a great addition to my truck list of LONGEVITY modifications....
I have the AirDog 100 kit installed. It's piece of mind to know I'm double filtering the fuel and removing the entrapped air. I noticed a difference in injector noise as well. The install is fairly easy and can be done by any shadetree mech. I will say the hardest part was getting to the connection at the top of the fuel tank.
If you want to step it up go to the AirDog 150 this setup requires a new pickup tube to be installed.
I have the ITP RR witch is great, just a b**** to put in.
I still had a problem with fuel psi. and a HP tune ( i think it was a week stock HFCM ).
I just got an Airdog II and installed it on Friday and it was a fairly easy install.
My truck runs GREAT with the new Airdog II and my fuel psi. only drops 5 or6 psi at WOT (65 down to 60).
I hope this helps.
