Sounds like air in the system to me.
Have you tried bleeding them?
The pages are from the 1988 Ford Shop Manual from FORD.
I do not own a Chilton's manual.

Hey Guys and Gals,
I'm having trouble with my AC in my excursion 2000, my rear AC works fine and blows cold air- but the front is a lil weird , for a good while when i placed it in AC it would blow out hot air, then on MAX AC is was cold -but now BOTH (AC/MaxAC) are blowing hot air (the rear is still fine)- did the recharge on the truck but it was not needed, told it might be the blend door actuator but i have no clue--- any help is greatly appreciated

Steves, i also had the same issue with my brake, replaced the master cylinder and works well. And as for the cruise control i am having the same issue, is the cruise vacuum assisted? Thanks for any advice.

My cruise control is erratic. I set it at 55 and it will go back and forth as if I am pressing on the gas then releasing it rapidly. Very annoying so I don't use it.

Looking at the chart, I need to check the speed control, throttle linkage and actuator cable. I have check them and have not noticed any binding. Any more specifics for what I am looking for?

Sometimes the gas pedal sticks, but firm pressure gets it past what ever is binding it and I can't find the culprit.

To add to this. I do believe there is some binding somewhere as sometimes when I come to a stop, the engine idles high. I have to pop back to N so I don't have to hold the bracks so hard. Also seems as if the transmission is not downshifting as I come to a stop if thats the correct terminology.

To further add, the idle can be erratic sometimes as if someone is playing with the gas pedel and it will sometimes stall as a result. Rough idle from the front tank, switch to rear tank and after 2-3 min. the idle smooths out.

Where to start?

Oh yeah, 87 F150, 302 Auto, 2-wd, 110,000 original miles.

1994 f-150 horn and cruise control problem

Hey guys..

I'm having the same problem with my truck as some of the guys here. The horn and cruise control dont work on my truck for some reason. I've had it for about 8 years and I've never resolved the problem. The airbag light blinks every once in a while and i took off the horns and tested them and they work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Why would I intentionally post something that did not fit your truck? To the best of my knowledge and sources, yes either of those will fit your 1994 F150

Maybe I'm just having a brain fart, but if the horn still works and the cruise doesn't is it still the clock spring? Oh by the way the ABS light blinks like 3 or 4 times goes out and then repeats. This all started at the same time the cruise went out. Thanks
