Hey guys a few weeks ago i was off roading my 90 bronco 2 when i started losing oil pressure and the top end start making a severe lifter taping noise,i stopped let it idle and the noise continued, decided to drive the truck home and during the entire trip home the ticking remained and varied by rpm, also the oil pressure gauge jumped around erradictly the entire trip.so i parked the truck assuming i had some trash in the bottom end, lost oil pressure and just wrecked the new heads i had put on it.I stepped back a week or so and just went over and started the truck and it ran just as amazing as it always have,no ticking no nothing, perfect oil pressure, everything. So now what to do?? i think im gonna buy a case of cheap oil and cheap filters, flush the s*** outta the motor, then change the oil pump and screen.Any suggestions?? also how difficult is it to get the pan of these things with the motor still in place,im assuming i gotta jack the motor up quite a bit for clearence......thanks
Ive also came across a product called auto rx and ive done some research on multiple forums, and so far this seems to be the only product ive came across that actually cleans the engine without harming anything,so im thinking about running this product with some 15w40 diesel oil thats high detergent to flush it good, then change my pump and screen,,,what yall think????
If you have put on new/rebuilt heads all ready and will be replacing the oil pump. I would also replace all bearings and rings if you pull the engine out. Probly be best to as bearing dammage may have happened.
How dirty was the top-end when you did the heads? If it had a lot of baked on deposits it could have stopped up the screen. You would need to pull and clean out the pan. Also inspect and/or replace the bottom end bearings and oil pump. If there is a lot of metal you may need to pull and rework the shortblock.
also how difficult is it to get the pan of these things with the motor still in place,im assuming i gotta jack the motor up quite a bit for clearance......thanks

I need to know this also..thanx
It probly won't happen as the firewall seam is almost right on top of the bellhousing. Probly only 2" clearance to work with, I doubt you will get the engine/tranny up high enough to pull the pan.
