Does anyone have a diagram on what ignition module wires go where ? also distributer, I want to build something out of an old ford system, I just need to know what goes to what, Thanks Guys....Rick
If i'm not mistaken the white wires function is to retard timing (4-6 degrees) while cranking engine over for easier start up and needs 12v with key in "start" position from the "S" terminal.
Looking at the diagram though wouldn't it perform the same function off the "I" terminal???
PERFECT !!!!That is exactly what I needed, Thanks Montana
what I am going to try and do is use one of my old distributers ,the ignition module and a small 12vlot motor and build a spark system for a propane tail pipe flame thrower ?
OK let me see if I got this straight ?
Orange, purple + black go to the distributer
green to the negative side of the coils
what should I use as my constant hot wire in ? red ?
and hot wire to the coil ? white ?
I won't have a starter relay
or red to the coil and white as the hot wire with a switch ? that sounds more like it to me ?
I need a 12 volt in ??

The "S" terminal receives it's voltage from the Key switch, the "I" terminal receives it's voltage thru the solenoid when "S" is energized.
I would tend to think the "I" terminal would be the better alternative.
It seems to work, I guess I could switch it to the "S" terminal, but it seems to me it would do the same thing.
To get a truck running recently before i stripped it, i had to jumper from terminal "i" to the positive coil terminal.
what exactly does the resistance wire do, (which I assume is blown in the truck in question) and what happens if it's left with 12 volt feed to the coil?
well it would be short bursts of useage fo course, but thanks, I will check out that link, I'll also look for my old wiring harness and find that resitent wire, Thanks Guys...Rick .(Salt-Man)
