98 F150 Transmission Problems?

Folks,

I have a 98 F150 5.4L with an automatic transmission. When driving at approximately 35-40 mph and once the overdrive has kicked in, if you easily press the accelerator the transmission will shudder and act like it is trying to downshift. This will continue to happen as long as you apply the gas. It seems to be most evident when driving below 50 and with the AC off. Anyone seen this behavior before?
