I started my vacation yesterday and was getting ready to make some floor pans for my `66 T-Bird but the sun is just too hot now in Houston to do any work in,so I started putting up a 20x30 tarp inbetween the garage and carport for some shade. The next thing I know is I`m standing on the top of a folding ladder trying to tie the rope off and I realize that this cant be safe.Luckily I put the tarp up without any problems. Next when I was drilling the holes in the pan for the welds the bit caught the 18 gage and the trigger got stuck and it wrapped around the bit and my shorts got tangled and it almost got my manhood. When I got the pan done I started grinding where I had to weld it in and the handle on the grinder broke off.So I need to tap out the broken bolt in the handle and when I`m tightening the bit in the drill I accidently push the trigger on the work bench and the drill goes off again almost getting me again, should have unplugged it.Anyway after all that I started using all my protective gear and following safe work practice`s just like as if I was actually @ work.
Geez did you forget to spill gas everywhere before you started welding?
i'm just messing with ya.
Don't forget workmans comp don't pay for home accidents.
YEAH,I know.I`m sort of glad that It happened in a way, because it made me realize that all the safety training I learned from my job applies at the house too.I just hope someone reads this and is safer while they are working on there projects.
It happens to me also.... I forget to wear safety glasses at home, but at work, and school, it the the first thing I put on..
I was working on my sister 1994 Olds Bravada, I was under the truck removing the starter, I had removed the wheel, I was lying by the brake rotor, I rolled out, I did not see the rotor, I hit my ribs.... as i rolled out.. that hurt a bit..
