Has anyone actually installed these on and 2000-2003 Ex? Thorley is offering me an excellent price to be a "guinea pig" on these? My motor is out and I'm think about headers anyway.
I never heard of anyone trying the Thorleys on their EX but I don't spend a lot of time in the Ex section. I have them on my SD and like them a lot. If you can get a good deal on them I would definatly give them a shot.
Motor is in and headers installed. Mechanic told me that the headers were an easy install that if he took them apart he could reinstall them in 15 minutes. They fit without any mods. They look good and no more restrictive Y pipe. No real noticeable difference in sound. I am not supposed to take the motor up above 2500rpm for the first 500 miles, so I really don't know the difference in performance yet. I will post pics as soon as the mech sends them to me. One ? though, if anyone knows. The old motor called for 5W30 and the new one 5W20 does this seem right?
I noticed a sound difference with the headers on my truck but I'm also running a FM40 muffler so mine is probably a little louder than yours. At first I hated the sound but after awhile something must've broken in and it sounds SAHWEET!
The tires are the only thing I regret buying for my truck. I only had them in sand for like a minute once and aired at 60 psi. They sank more than I expected them too but I can't say for sure of the performance of them unless they are aired down and I'm really using them how they need to be. I try not to drive in the rain because they make me feel like a danger to the public let alone myself. They hydroplane pretty bad and its sometimes tricky to take off on some wet surfaces. They actually make me nervous on the highway at highway speeds. Amazing in dry weather tho.
Tread life on them does appear to be decent tho compared to the last two sets of Pirelli ATs I had. So I've been thinking about switching over to the Mud Grapplers.
