95 PSD Vs 99 PSD

A little info first. 99 extcab, 4X4, 4 speed auto, 3.73, stock with 98,000 miles and a 95 extcab, 4X4, 4 speed auto, unknown rear-end, stock with 72,000 miles.

I towed my toy box with the 99 (father in-laws) and did great. I'm looking at the 95 and ?ing if it will do as well? What do you think?

Your engine won't have quite as much snort as the 99 stock but with a couple minor upgrades you'd be there if not higher. If it has 4.10's it will probably pull just as easy as the 99 but 3.55's won't

I'm looking at upgrading my 93 non-turbo with a 95 I found. I loved the way the 99 pulled and want to be at that level. What would it take to get a 95 to the point of the 99? Would I be better off looking in that year range to start?

well, i have a TW chip, built tranny, cold air intake, 4.10's, and some other junk, and dad's 02 (basically same as 99) will hang with me when his chip is off, and mine on extreme. the difference is pretty big...

towing, his still does better.

mines a 97, his is the 2002 with auto and 3.73's, chip and built tranny.

I say get the 95 and never look back. Its got low miles and ya its at a little bit of a disadvangtage from the start, but you can probably get it for cheaper money and the money you save could go to upgrades and you'll be long past the 99 for the same amount of money. I personally like the OBS over the 99-03 but its personal preference.

Thats kinda dissapointing to hear. I thought our trucks had only a little less power than the 99-02.

I'm pretty sure that there was a fairly close difference between the two. My truck has 225 stock and I think my dads 03 had 255 or around there. I'm not positive but I think so.

The superdutys have the splitshot injectors which gives them a bit more power...

Can't we do the mods and have our OBS as good as or better then the superduties? Or did they boost the compression or do something else to made the superduties 7.3's better?

plus the bigger IDM. but it does run faster. however, towing in the mountains with a big load it (my truck) impressed the heck out of dad. all he could do was talk about the torque, and how it felt as though it had more low end than his....that was with this load....

2 Stroke, take the tunes you got and put in a set of 150cc swamps injectors, and it will shock you how much more power you will get.
