my trans has thrown some codes over the last couple weeks. i obliterated a young man in civic who thought he was tough stuff! lol! and in the highest setting i have being the 120 hp race tune (from jody naturally) it lit up the trans light on the dash and set off the o/d light on the stalk. i cleared the codes with my termy gauge and yesterday while passing about 6 cars on a 2 lane (1 lane each way) country highway, a state road i think, i got on her and at about 90 mph the trans light in the dash turned on again. when i first got my dp tuner the o/d light blinked wheneve i would nail it form a stand still to get the smoke rollin'. it feels weird whenever i have it in the highest hp setting anyway. dont know if its the trans going dead or not but i would rather have it rebuilt on my own terms and not when im hell and gone from home and relying on a tow truck to get me somewhere. besides i also look at it like a supporting mod for a high hp engine build later down the road!

I agree, that is why my JW trans is on route as we speak. Should be crossing the border tomorrow AM, then installed next monday! Hell ya!
i didnt write the codes down as i was hoping it would clear the trans light in the dash. the trans doesnt really run hot. normal temps about 80-100 over ambient but i figured that if the o/d light is flashing occasionally and the light in the dash is coming on then its kinda hard to ignore the little signs of a possible failure. plus the light in the dash is a good way to convince the wifey you NEED a badass transmission!
leaving in the morning the the new trans done first thing monday! had to delay the original date a couple weeks since i was having some fuel leak issues and couldnt get the parts the day before the drive down there. ill give a report when i get back on tuesday...........
alright, so after a month and a half waiting for my appointment and then a three week delay on my part i just got back from lead hill about 6 hours ago at 3am from getting this trans built. all i can say is WOW! its absolutely amazing. i never knew what torque converter lock up was or felt like until now! they go all out when building these things and all the guys in the shop are pretty cool guys. they even scrub down your housing and paint it up so it looks absolutely new. i took some pics with my phone but then realized i dont yet have the cord to hook it to my computer to get them or i would post them. but anyway i am going to have to send my chip back to jody to get some tweaking done on the trans shifting programs for the higher hp settings but i tell you this is worth its weight in gold and every penny you spend. just so people know its 4100 for the trans build and 150 in trans oil and another 150 for the 6L trans cooler (which i heard was bigger but youll not believe it until you see it how much bigger it is, i about crapped myself when i saw it!) and taxes bring the grand total to around 4900 with a lifetime warranty but for the first 2 years brian will even pay shipping for the trans both ways to get it fixed if anything should happen. after that shipping is on you but he will always take of the trans. there is no way i would ever try to tackle something like this on my own there is just too many parts to it and i know i would lose half of them. the custom machined and hardened parts brian puts in his trannys are wicked cool and he is on the leading edge of the building these transmissions. if you guys think you have a permagrin from a dp tuner then just wait until you get a BTS!!!!!!!!!!!
