1990 7.3 Injector Pump Wiring?
Soooo the Glow plug switch decided to stay switched on and burned all the wires going to the injector pump. i hard wired it to get it home. basically wired both the posts looped together then off to a relay and switch so i can start and kill the fuel.
The original wires to the pump all look like a ball of copper now. what originally went where. got new glow relay and switch. but now i need to re wire. thanks guys.

In the chassis harness, the ignition wire is light green with a red stripe.
Inside the engine harness it turns to a red with yellow stripe wire with three branches.
One goes to the glow plug relay/controller, goes on the small terminal with a red wire on it.
One goes to the temp switch under the alternator in this picture and attaches to one terminal.
The other terminal has a wire that runs to both the cold start timing advance and cold start high idle solenoid.
And the last wire goes to the fuel shut off solenoid.
IP connections are in this picture.

Water temp, oil pressure and engine temp light are all in the same harness with the glow plug harness and ignition circuit.
So those probably are messed up as well.
Tach and alternator are in another harness, so they should be OK.
It is possible you have burnt a fusible link near the starter relay that sends power into the cab.

So let me get this straight. the red and yellow come from the harness, branch off to the glow plug relay and to the ip fuel shut off. now the advance terminal on the ip runs over to the throttle sensor or whatever its called. but where does it go from there? and i guess its the temp switch, well thats melted too but what connects to that? then where do the wires run to after. as much detail as possible would be great. im new to these trucks.
Thanks again for all of your help.

Hmmm so i hooked everything up again. temp switch is melted and auto parts stores are all closed around here on sunday, but besides that, i noticed that there was once two wires running from the fuel shut off.. any ideas where the other went? and also, i have power to the fuel valve under cranking but on on ignition. if you push clutch in and turn key to start, it will start and if you hold key on start and release clutch to stop starter, it will run. but once you let go of the key, it shuts off. need help. really starting to get frustrated.
thanks again

Once in the engine harness, the red/yellow wire branches to three wires.
1. Glow plug relay controller and attaches to the small terminal with a small red wire on it.
Labeled ignition switch in this picture.
2. Goes to the engine coolant temp switch and attaches to one terminal.
The other terminal on the temp switch has a wire that runs to the cold start timing advance and the cold start idle speed solenoid.
3. Goes to the fuel shut off solenoid.
If you notice in the picture, two wires are at the idle speed solenoid, passenger side of the IP.
All IP terminal are labeled in this picture looking from the passenger side of the engine.
