I have a 1952 f1 with no data tag. The only vin I can find is on the left hand frame rail by the steering box..
I'm having a hard time trying to read. BDA83AHP-XXXXX
Look on the frame rail on the other side. The number for your truck should start with
F1R2 (if you have the 239 V8flathead F1) or F1D2 (if you have the 215 OHV straight 6). Then there should be two letters (the assembly plant) and 5 numbers.
That is of course unless you being in Canada, this is a Canadian Built truck. That would explain why the Serial Number is on the drivers side. US built trucks it's supposed to be on the passenger side.
In that case:
BD = Ford 1/2 ton 114" wheel base,
A= Standard Style (pick-up, not a COE, etc),
83 = Pick-up 114" wheel base,
A= Standard Body Style (as opposed to Deluxe)
H= Left hand drive built at the Home Office
P= 1952 (it might actually be "52" scrunched together)
