2004 Explorer - Caliper Pin Question
When I pulled the caliper pins to grease, I noticed there are two different style pins. Pin A and Pin B - See pic below.

On the drivers side caliper, Pin A was on the bottom (leading) and Pin B was on the top (trailing) side of the caliper.
On the passengers side caliper, Pin A was on the top (trailing) and Pin B was on the bottom (leading) side of the caliper.
This seemed strange ... I would have expected the same style of pin to be located in the same position (top/bottom) in the caliper.
I know the pads have been replaced previously ... possible the pins were switched when reassembled.
Does anyone know which pin goes where in the caliper?
My Haynes manual does not clarify and I don't have a shop manual.
Thanks for your help.
Rich
Your Pin "A" is #7, Guide pin.
Your Pin "B" is #8, Locating pin.
According to the Ford manual they were installed correctly being opposite positions.
