Hood release
1997 Explorer Limited.
I closed the hood , it sounded funny so I checked and it doesnt seem to be down all the way.
But the problem is it wont open now.
Ive pryed on it as hard as the plastic grille will let me.
I dont think its the cable as it seems to be stuck before the main latch.
Cant get at any bolts to undo it.
Anyone got any ideas on how to get into it.
It needs the oil checked and winshield fluid so Ive got to get into it soon?

It sounds like you may have closed the hood while something was still laying in the way (screwdriver, flashlight, oil fill cap, etc.). What you might try is getting a friend/spouse/family member to pull out on the hood release lever while you press down on the hood just above the latch mechanism. Hopefully you can get the hood released without bending the hood or hinges.
