Need some help finding some parts

My body wiring harness on my 69 F100 FWD is pretty bad. I need to find a new one or make a new one. Open to suggestions, or if there is one out there I'd buy it.

I also need to replace the front brake right hose that bridges from the steel brake line that runs accross under the engine to the bit of steel line that attaches to the brake assembley.

I can't tell by looking if the hose comes off or if I need to replace the whole line from the proportioning valve to the brake. I see that the hose is sold on NPD separately, but they don't have the 69 4WD.

No steel brake lines were originally supplied by Ford at the parts counter.

All the steel lines had to be made up by using a tubing bender from bulk steel tubing, misc. nuts and ferrules.

This was also the case with steel fuel lines, and all other steel lines with one exception: A/C hoses.

I've read here on FTE that some of the aftermarket parts suppliers are selling steel brake lines.

If you need any of the steel/rubber hoses, I might be able to find NOS parts. Some of these have also been reproduced.

Which wiring harnesses do you need?

While I doubt anyone has originals. I'll take a look and post what I find. I need the engine size, and the VIN.

Brake Line Hoses............

If you have a local NAPA store, you can pick up the hoses for either side as well as the one in the rear. They are stock items at most of these stores. I got new front hoses for my 1970 about 2 months ago and they were right behind the counter.....no waiting! NAPA has most everything for brakes on these trucks.

If this is the right (passenger) side front steel/rubber brake hose that connects to the wheel cylinder, then connects to the steel/rubber brake hose on the drivers side that you are refering to, good luck finding it at NAPA.

C6TZ2A420A .. Right Front Brake Hose ~ 47 1/4" long / Obsolete

Fits: 1966/71 F100 4WD. 1972 and later is different. 2WD is NOT the same!

BABB FORD SALES in Reed City MI has ONE.

DENNIS CARPENTER OBSOLETE PARTS in Concord NC has ONE: 704-786-8139.

No other Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.

btw: The abbreviation of FWD is confusing, as it refers to Front Wheel Drive. 4WD = Four Wheel Drive.

It is the right side front steel/rubber brake hose. It is a 4WD (sorry for the careless typing). The VIN is F11YRD85409. The part is about three feet of bent steel tubing from the proportioning valve over to the right side of the frame, and about a one foot (eyeball measurement) piece of rubber hose over to the wheel cylinder. I see on NPD and LMC that they have the rubber part for 69 F100 2WD and 69 F250 4WD, but not the 69 F100 4WD. I hear you Bill, that the 2WD is not the same, how about the F250 4WD? Can a brake shop replace the rubber or is it a difficult to duplicate part?

I also could use a new wiring harness for the rear turn indicators and brake lights. One related question - I believe the truck had back up lights before the tear down, but someone told the mechanics that there is no switch on the transimission on 69s to activate back up lights. Is this true?

I'll be on the phone first thing Monday to Carpenter and Babb to see if they have the parts.

These are TWO or THREE separate hoses, depending on whether you need the left front brake hose.

I see on NPD and LMC that they have the rubber part for 69 F100 2WD and 69 F250 4WD, but not the 69 F100 4WD. I hear you Bill, that the 2WD is not the same, how about the F250 4WD?
DIFFERENT.

Can a brake shop replace the rubber or is it a difficult to duplicate part? Prolly not, as the rubber portion is swagged to the steel line.

I also could use a new wiring harness for the rear turn indicators and brake lights.
Styleside or Flareside? Short or long bed?

One related question - I believe the truck had back up lights before the tear down, but someone told the mechanics that there is no switch on the transimission on 69s to activate back up lights.
Is this true?
NO, it is not! All 1967 and later F100/350's had backup lights as standard equipment.
The two 2A420 hoses fit: 1966/71 F100 4WD only / 1972 and later F100 4WD is different, F250 4WD is different.

The 2078 hose fits: 1967/71 F100 4WD only / 1972 and later F100 4WD is different, F250 4WD is different.

MILLER OBSOLETE PARTS in Binghamton NY has ONE = 800-546-7278.

No other Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.
-----------------------------------------------------
1) C7TZ2078A .. Front Brake Hose & Tube Assy - 14 1/2" long / Obsolete

From the left front brake hose to the Proportioning Valve.

DENNIS CARPENTER OBSOLETE PARTS has TWO = 704-786-8139.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 34 = 800-543-4959 / 513-731-3304.

KINSEL L/M in Beaumont TX has SEVEN = 800-816-2894.

MORLAN-SHELL FORD in West Plains MO has ONE = 417-256-3195.

BOWMAN FORD SALES in Bowman ND has ONE = 701-523-3257.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Which manual transmission do you have? Three on the tree or 4 on the floor?

It makes a difference as to the backup light switch type and location.

All the brake lines and related parts are illustrated in the 1964/72 FORD TRUCK PARTS CATALOG / Section 22, page 17.

You can buy a CD of this catalog for around $22.00 (US) from hipoparts.com.

Bill,

My truck has a 4 on the floor (NP435), and it is a long box flare side. I hope the wiring harness is available as mine is shot and must be re-wired completely.

I have the shop manual for the truck - but it is 80 miles from here with the truck (I should have brought it home). I think I will get the parts catalogue.

Thank you.

C9TZ15520C replaced by 6L5Z15520A .. Backup Lamp Switch (Motorcraft SW6396)

MSRP: $33.29 // FTE sponsor Y2KFORDDISCOUNTPARTS.com price: $17.98.

This switch threads into the top of the New Process' shift tower.

IMO, it's prolly still there. That person you mentioned above prolly had no clue where to look for it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Considering you have a Flareside, which used the same taillamps from 1967 thru 1979, any number of wiring harnesses could be made to work.

There are dozens! I'd rather not have to type them all, then search.

It would be easier if we talk live, then I can run each one to see if anyone has any.

P/M me your phone number and best time to call. I'm in CA and have free calling throughout the US/Canada.

Bill,

I have the brake line coming from Denis Carpenter - thanks again. I have ordered both the 64 to 73 and the 73 and onward parts disks (since I have a 73 to 75 steering set up in my 69).

Any hope of finding the wiring harness?

Paul.
