Does anyone know the front rotor thickness of a new set and how much wear is allowed before they should be replaced??
I know on my sports car 2mm wear is all that's allowed.
The truck currently has ~67K on it with the original pads & rotors and is used less frequently now that I have the Beast (see below) but when i do use it I'm usually towing something heavy with it. I have noticed increased stopping effort and when I go in there to check the pads I'd like to measure the rotors at the same time.
Also, how many pad changes are you doing before replacing the rotors?
Your auto parts store should have that infoormation in their brake catalog. I don't remember off the top of my head, but when I was working part time at a parts store the minimum thickness was listed in the paper catalogs. If not, it's in the shop manuals.
