Power steering fluid question

I'm replacing the power steering pump on a 2005 explorer, v6. Manual says to use Mercon multi-purpose ATF, Ford part number xt-2-qdx. NAPA gave me their brand of power steering fluid part number 9832 which says it compatible with Ford spec esw-m2c128-c. I can't find online anything that can confirm the NAPA 9832 is compatable with Fords specification for the explorer.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Did you ever get an answer to your question?

I have an 02 explorer V6 that is starting to leak.. How hard is it to replace the pump myself?

Thanks, Tom

If the NAPA fluid is says Mercon or Mercon V on it, it is acceptible to use.

Just use Mercon or Mercon V. The fluid that claims it is compatible has been a suspect in many power steering pump failures. The wrong fluid can kill a pump within a couple hundred miles.

Acceptable to use and ideal to use a two very different things.
