Absolutely, anti grappling is the way to go for street fighting. Pop him in the chin, knock him out, and watch out for his buddy coming after you with the beer bottle in his hand. I think its important to know the basics of the ground though. What do you train in?
Yall see bisping get knocked out?! Man that was awesome!
I trained Muay Thai, traditional boxing, Karate, BJJ, and Krav Maga. I was also an instructor of Karate and Krav Maga, plus fitness and general fighting. But, I can't train or teach anymore. I suffered a couple of closed head injuries and broke c1 and c2 of my neck during my last "show", so now I write.
I loved ground work, but in a controlled situation. On the street my focus would be to stay on my feet.
lesnar did act like a butthole after the fight, but i feel that it was for hype. I could be wrong that is just my 2 cents. I know that the blood was there b4 the lesnar-mir fight but I can see by the way i worded my earlier post why someone would not think so. I just thought it was cool, that's all.
oh, 1 more thought sorry, but I know that I am biased towards wrestling, but if 5 guys jump u the first thing they are going to do is take u to the ground, this is where wrestling is survival. and what about take down defense? u are only going to know that being a good wrestler or in some kind of grappling martial art. Now I totally agree, again I totally agree that going to the ground is the worst thing u can do in a street fight, but not only is it necessary sometimes, it's the best thing to do in a one on one fair fight. Dan Henderson who is an Olympic wrestler knocked out bisping, anyone can strike, it takes years of practice and skill to be a good wrestler. When there were no rules in the ufc, Royce Gracie who weighed 150lbs beat a man named kimo, who was almost 300 lbs. He won by submission. All the original greats b4 rules in the ufc were in some type of grappling martial art. Gracie wasBrazilian Jiu-Jitsu , shamrock was a shootfighter, severn was just a wrestler. i love wrestling but it is boring for most people to watch, that is why ufc almost went under b4 Dana white took over, sorry for the rant I just needed to express myself.

Yea, he said in the post fight interview that coming from an entertainment industry (WWE) that got the better of him after the fight. It was funny though how he said he was going to drink Coors light because Bud light doesn't pay him anything.
I thought it was funny when he commented on coors light too!
He totally demolished Mir. I like Mir, hes an awesome fighter, but he had no chance against Lesnar. Even in the first fight, Mir got really lucky, cause Lesnar was so inexperienced. Lesnar is just a monster, and its gonna be interesting to see who can take him out. What a show of class by Mir at the end though, stand up guy!
Ive always thought a good wrestling base helped any fighting situation. If you can learn to block/take a punch, throw a punch, and wrestle, you will be one hell of a fighter, no matter the situation! (although the finger and knee locks seem to work pretty well too, TILL ya let go of the guy, guys that get knocked out sure cant come after ya as fast!)
I like it, I like the smaller fighters best, more action. I think Forest Griffin and Penn are probably the best rounded smaller fighters.
I don't think most people would want to be under Lesnar and his (4x?) hands raining down even hammer blows. I really thought Mir was a goner when I saw their 1st fight.

Forest Griffin isnt a smaller fighter, and he just got worked by Anderson Silva in the last event. Also BJ Penn is a punk, Georges St Pierre is way better.
Yeah gsp is pretty awesome, I think he is one of the most well rounded fighters, and he shows class after most of his fights too. Lesnar is just huge and strong, hard to stop a guy like that no matter how talented you are.
What do you guys think of the ultimate fighter heavyweights coming up?
