else besides me watch Meerkat Manor? Last nights episode was a real stinker. jd

I got hooked on watching it myself. It is a different kind of animal show, and an interesting study in animal behavior and survival.

Flower, the leader of the Whiskers group, was killed by a Hooded Cobra bite. It was very sad. I read a few of the comments on animalplanet.com, and they ranged from crying their eyes out, to blaming the producers of the show for Flower's death. It was like a movie star losing her life.

Especially this episode where the Whiskers group were re-united after a long split, and Flower allowed the adoption of an abandon pup from the Zappa group, something that just isn't done in Meerkat society. From happiness and glee to tears and sorrow in minutes.

If your children were watching, I hope they coped with it well. jd
