Just got the results back from my stalling truck. Seems to be a shorted out wire harness at the Control Module has melted and burnt up, even melted the reservoir bottle. Does anyone have a part number that I can do some searching to get the best deal on a replacement? Or is this something I have to pay the dealer price?
I found there was a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recall on FICM Injector harness which causes the truck to stall unexpectedly.
Ouch! Keep us informed as to what the dealer says on the information you found. This weekend will be slow for responses since everyone is heading out for vacations.
Talked to Ford Motor Co. today and they told me I would have to put my truck back together and have it towed to the dealer, then have the dealer diagnose the burnt wire issue, then call the gurus at Ford, before considering fixing it for me.
The mechanic cost to put parts back on ($50), towing ($50), dealer diagnostic fee($100), I am over what the part would cost ($165). I ordered the FICM wire harness 4C3Z-9C891-B today to begin trouble shooting. hopefully the fuses burnt up before the Injector Module did.
In my searching for part numbers, I did come across a great spreadsheet reference page for part numbers.
