I just wish I had the tools to build one! I can do all the fabbing....but don't have the tools. I always did my work in a shop that already had em...but many years ago I changed fields so now I don't have access to the good stuff that I need.
Ahhh well..... I will get mine some day...I just need it to mount a light bar. I don't want to put holes in the cab. I do love those Ranch hand racks tho....Although I am torn between the oval and the round lights.
I'm much more at home butchering wood in front of a table saw, but I can hold my own with a gas ax and burning some rod. Never quite mastered arc welding. I bought a 110v craftsman mig welder (made by hobart I think) for repairing sheet metal on the old Grocery hauler (bronco) many moons ago. It works fine for fixing rust holes and welding exaust pipe. Never could weld heavier stuff until I decided to put .030 wire in it. Man, what a difference.
If anyone is in the market, this is a welder that can be plugged in anywhere (110voltac), is light and portable, will weld from sheet metal up to 1/4" plate, and only cost me $350.00 (Gas bottle not included). I does what I need it to.
