This sounds like a cool idea!

I have a "L" speedo in my truck. Its a direct swap just like upgrading to a tach cluster.

I don't see why you need to swap spindles. Just swap the front springs.

86F150302,

That's cool! I didn't know that it could be done. How much fabrication was involved? Any idea what it cost you?

What about the drive shaft? I thought the Lightning had a lighter alloy shaft.

Brought the 93 Lightning home today and going to start the disassembly tomorrow. The interior is mostly complete except for a speedo cluster and the glove box. The drivers door panel has a crack in it so I will need to find a replacement. Anyone have an idea if any other model of F150/Bronco will interchange? (It's the charcoal grey color)

Another question: I am hesitant to remove the whole dash assembly to install in my other truck. Is it a big job or should I just tape up the dash and paint it with some sort of Duplicolor plastic paint?

I am sure that other questions will arise as I get into this project so any help would be appreciated.

Lastly, I will be posting some items for sale that I don't need so stay tuned.

Scott
