as far as techs with computers go, i must say the computer is only as good as the tech using it. we have all the right info to fix your truck, just most guys try to cut corners and guess to save time and make money...warranty pays for ****
probably not but just in case i will post when the new part is available. this typically happens with owners pullin trailers through hills/moountains. If i were you i would go shove those tstats up your dealers *** and call the number on your warranty card and complain
probably, not broken like 450 but definately extended, by extended i mean stuck open. the new protocol is with every rad, change t-stats. i would make the dealer change em. They need the practice, they're gunna be changing a bunch
I did take the old stats back to the dealership, I have a good relationship with them, it was just a tech that did not want to go the extra mile, it happens. They do take care of me since I have deleted the DPF's on both trucks, they turn the other cheek.
Thank you Jonesy302 for your response, I appriciate it!
Well, for what is worth, just got back from a 1945 mile trip to Minnesota and back with my 09. Most of my temps were right around the 198-204 mark while towing 11K. I did see one spike to about 218 running against the wind going up some of the wisconsin hills with boost about 33-36. However, once the boost came down, the temps dropped rapidly back to around 200. I don't think I ever saw the tranny temp go over 182, even with the AC going full blast all of the time. Mileage ran anywhere between 7.5(lots of wind, hills), to almost 10 on some nice stretches of 2-lane highway. Can't complain one bit about the performance of the truck...just like a freight train, didn't seem to care what it was towing....
