found a d60

well ive been on the search for a solid axle, i just didnt want to pay a grand for one. this weekend i heard from a friend who heard from a freind about a 95 350 without reverse, rusted body, but only 900 bucks, it says 73000 miles on it. picked it up today. i paid 800 for it, not to mention its a powerstroke. only thing is it takes like 10 seconds of crankin to start, but it will start up right away thogh if i just put my foot on the throttle enough for like that litle button to click. what do u think

73000 miles!!!!!!!!
You stole it IMO. There is way more than $800 in parts there....if you are parting it out. The D60 goes for about $1000 around here.

Adjust the IVS on the 'go pedal'...should cure your hard start.

If you ran out of fuel it will take a lot of cranking to get it going again. Open the fuel filter drain....no fuel? Remove the top an fill it.

yeah its an auto

when i attempt to start it, it gives off white smoke.

lets say the tank is not empty. what now?

and, when i went to look at it, it was a quart or 2 low (rusted oil pan) when i went to pick it up the guy had added some oil. if non diesel rated oil were added what would that do. it doesnt have additives and it would foam? i dont see any signs of foaming,

and when i crank it , i get rpm reading, there is oil in the hp oil resivor, and white smoke

idk it really seemed to me like it ran out of fuel, ive done that befor, but i supose it would feel like runnin out of hpo too? but the resivor was full like i said

too bad it isn't a stick shift, you could drag it around until it succumbs to your wishes LOL
It shouldn''t foam until it's up and running...even then it may take a while for the oil to foam bad enough to make a difference.
You have white smoke...that means you are getting fuel IMO. Try a CPS yet?
