throttle body grounds wire
Has anyone tried putting a ground wire from the Throttle body (fly-by wire units only), to the battery or other grounding bolt??

it has met with mixed reactions on the fusions, some say that the throttle response has improved. some say it has done little to nothing.
Just wondering if this has improved anything on the truck side??
The TB stepper motor is isolated from the TB. Therefore no reason to ground it. The stepper motor is grounded thru the wiring harness.
Here's the numbers I got doing the grounding (bonding) experiement with my Focus. Before bonding: No continuity between TB and any ground lugs. Running a 12 gauge wire from the TB to a ground lug, .05 ohms, measured from the TB to a point on the metal beside the ground lug. Change in response or idle: NONE
Some say you need #6 wire for it to be affective. If you have a very low ohms reading it would make no difference. You are just giving a return path for any voltage present (basically a voltage drain, like the twisted bare wire in most analog cable). A 16 gauge wire is capabile of carry 15 amps (based on 12 VDC). So why would you need anything larger? If you have amperage present on your TB, you have a serious problem. So if #8 or #6 wire is the "correct size" to feel the effect, why not use 00 wire? Wouldn't that be better?
IMHO, it's just another way to seperate you from your money. But the "seat of the pants", or butt dyno, can be a factor in stuff like this. You want there to be a difference, so therefore, there is a difference.
