Sounds like a project to build yourself. Miller has some good plans on their website. Build it to suit your own needs.

I would build my own....one it would be cheaper, but stonger than what I can buy.
2 You can customize it however you wanted to
3 Its great practice for a novice welder (and the one guy even said that on powerblock before)

i built one last year out of scrap i had laying around.
i topped it with a mesh so slag from the torches or plasma cutter will go though instead of bouncing around.
it took around 4 hours total to make.

I have built one out of uni-strut before, as well. Fairly strong and lots of holes to hang rod on, stinger, what have you.

Consider making it 3-legged and on wheels if you think there is even a remote need for portability.
That way, it will never rock.
I made one for my shop at the school where I teach. I'll try to remember to take a picture of it to give you some ideas. It also has two large vises and a pipe vise on the table. Thing weighs in at 600+ pounds, but rolls easily enough to move when needed. Lock the wheels and it stays put when bending something.

Weld table Pictures

The H-beam we used we bought at "scrap price" from a local yard.
The 3/4" plate for the top was donated by a local fabrication outfit.
If I had it in my own shop, as opposed to a school shop, I would probably only have the one big vise on it. But since we have 20 students per class, 2 vises help them get done faster. I would probably drop the pipe vise as well in my own shop. Don't use one often enough to require a dedicated vise, but we do at school.
With only 3 legs, the table never rocks when we move it from place to place.
The kids have individual booths for stick welding, but they do all their MIG welding at this table.

A simple welding table could be one of those old steel office desks that people want to get rid of. I see them occasionally on craig's list. Install four casters, and slap on a steel top about 14 gauge and weld to one corner of the steel top a piece off steel that sticks up, say, something in the 1/2" diameter range. The piece that sticks up is now your ground for your welder's ground clamp. Anything you put on the surface of the desk to weld, is grounded. great for smaller projects where the ground clamp is more annoying to have in the way.

I built mine from pieces I picked up at the scrapyard. I founda base that just needed to be sanded and painted. I found a thick piece of plate to use for the top. Build your own if you can. It's great practice. I sure do like that portable table...that's nice.
