I recently installed in my '77 F100, an AOD in place of the tired C-4. I fabricated the TV bracket for the carb, and scrounged the bellcrank, and other linkage from the boneyard. Problem, the tranny starts in first gear but will not shift up. TV pressure was setup using a pressure guage as shown in the factory manual. Shift linkage was set as per factory manual standards. I have gone so far as to disconnect the shift arm, and place the tranny switch (shifter) in (D) by hand. Same result. Any ideas on this problem?

R-134 A/C system (I'm cool)
My AOD did the same thing last time that I rebuilt it before i took it out. All that you need to do is find dome flat concrete and a set of jackstands. Lift the rear tires off the ground and get a somebody to put in into OD put the truck at about 2500 rpm and move the TV lever up and down a bunch. That bleeds the internal valve on the tranny. It should start to shift through all the gears after a few minutes.
