no ones said anything on the add-a-leafs?? is that not a very common route taken on the Ex's??
Add-a-leaf for the front? Is that legal in your state? The typical problem with the rear add-a-leaf is they've often fouled with the rear HVAC lines ... which can be a costly repair.
promise you will no be satisfied if you "settle" for something ....
(Happens, with cars, wives, etc... )
I haven't had the ES's nor bilsteins, but have had the Rancho 9000's and feel they are the best option for ME and MY situation....
Not because it can be adjusted for the current conditions, but that it can be adjusted for MY liking.... i.e. set the shocks on their softest setting and the tires on their hardest... best mpg and tire wear with the best comfort in the ride....
good luck with it... and any of our advice may not be applicable to what you want to do only you know if it fits your 'likes'
HAHA, you ain't lying, i've gotten used to it for the most part, my F250 has 9" lift, and some 39 IROKs......... smooth isn't in the vocabulary with that truck.
but the Ex on the other hand, i want to keep a "decent ride" considering it's a 3/4 ton suv, and take some of the "sway" out. if i have to give up some smooth ride quality for a better handling, i can stand to deal with that!
I have a 4" using both spring and block then i added 4 Rancho 9000 along with a RAS System and now it rides and handles great. The best was it only coast about 700.00 Put i did all the work.

i've never read/heard that they ever have been............ i've read many state laws that restrict blocks on the front leafs of a truck, but nothing ever about add-a-leafs
why would add-a-leafs be illegal? just wondering, since i figure they are an addition to the original springs pack, which essentially that's what a full leaf list consists of, new springs packs with additional leafs, and or re arched as well.
well where do i start. I have 2001 v-10 excursion. I love it but not the ride. I added an extra snow plow spring, it did little for the bounce and controll. I removed it and went back to stock. I need help, it sounds like you guys have changed to the 250 truck springs front and rear, has that helped? I really only use it around town and for hunting. This is killing me, like I said I love it but i cant get controll over the truck when i hit a small bump. It feels like the front axel is bouncing. Im new to this site and im a little lost on the lingo. Please explain it in newbe terms.
Again its a V-10, the dealer thinks im crazy and said that they have a U,V and the CM suspention (stock for the excursion) The U 138in wheel base 7.3L 250. The V is for 173in V-10 250 CM for the excursion V-10. I have had the Excursion since 2003 and if i cant get the ride under controll I may just give up and trade it. One thing i cant figure out why my F-350 7.3 rode great and the Excursion is all over the road and bounces when I drive over a sewer cap.

Because Ford didn't put the same springs on the Excursion that they did the F250/350's, that's why people do the V code, B code spring mod you mentioned in your earlier post.
ok new update............ first off the Ex plans got put on hold just for a week or 2...... out of all my luck the wife got 2 (yes count them 2) flats on our van....... so the spring/shock fund is going for new tires on our van... bummer but it happens.......
WELL......... now for the GREAT NEWS. i should have remember this in the first place. we have a spring shop here in town (deal in big rig springs, build spring packs ect......), well they re arched my F250 springs when i was adding to my lift. so i called them up today......... add-a-leafs on all 4 corners, plus a slight re arch for added support........ $200 for all 4!!
not looking for much of a lift, i told them 2" in the front and 3" in the rear would be good with me!! so i'm crossing my fingers here in the next couple weeks i can get started on the suspension!! so after this, then maybe one of the parts stores will have a "buy 3 get 1 three deals by then"!!
