Brush cutter blades on curved string trimmers?

This may be better suited for a lawn and garden forum, but is there a way I can use a blade on my Home light curved shaft weed trimmer? I really should have purchased the straight shaft model, but I am trying to save a some $cash.

Thanks

Curved shaft trimmers have a coil spring for the driving shaft. A straight shaft trimmer has a rod. You could ruin the coil spring driving shaft if it has too much resistance. Cost to repair would probably exceed anything that you saved buying the one you have over the straight shaft, and definitely would spend anything you would save by renting one from Ace Hardware or Home Depot.

what are you trying to cut? generaly curved shaft trimmers have very little power so trying to cut really think brush is going to be tuff.
