did the ccv mod. made a resivior from 3" by 10 pcv drain on the bottom ran 3/4 hose from reversed doghouse over power brake uint down to the res. had a 3/4 hole for a vent near the top on the side plugged the hole with a cap on the intake to the turbo ran truck for 10 miles . blew oil out of the dipstick tube about 1/2 quart. excesvive crank case pressure for sure. why any help please and thanks a head of time
You don't have do do anything to the doghouse, just reverse it and maybe clean the sludge out of the wire mesh inside it. What size hose did you use? Are you sure it isn't pinched somewhere? Maybe it's because of your canister. Mine has been vented for years with no problems. I reversed the doghouse, ran 5/8 hose over the booster and along the frame all the way to the back bumper, the only difference is mine doesn't have a catch can.
I'm running a 3/4" line and have for over a year with a ABS home made filter at the end w/drain plug at the bottom. No problems. Either the dog house is restricted, the hose is kinked or your filter is not allowing the engine to breath.
Disconnect the line to the filter and hook a short piece to it ant see if you can sustain your life by breathing from it. If you pass out.....the filter is plugged or too restrictive.
It also eliminate the oily mist from being dumped into your intake ducting as well as keeping it out of the turbo. The oily mist helps to deteriorate the rubber connecting ducts as well.
Plumbing it to atmosphere makes it pretty clean in your engine, and still vents.
Plumbing it into your exhaust, which is the correct way to do it, sucks crank case gases out of your engine, making it run more efficiently, and since its hot in the exhaust, it will probably burn off most of the crap.
