im going to rebuilt my 360 soon. its in my 76 f150 4x4. this truck is my mud truck. i want a cam that puts out some tourqe. any advice on a cam to pick?
I have luck with a Comp XE256H in my 406 that I put in my truck. Specs are listed below. I also bought the entire "K-cam" kit and installed the timing set advanced four degrees. I get huge power between 1000-4000 rpm. Totally happy with the setup!

how about a 390 crank and rods, that'll put out some torque. Then you combine that with a cam like that and you'll feel like your trucks on the funny gas. I mean you're rebuilding anyway. And if you care you get better mpg. So you can mud longer without refueling. LOL
I think we worked this out a while back. With the shorter rod, the 360 piston height works, but I need to recheck that. I'll repost if I find that info. Good point though, all that stuff MUST be checked in a particular engine to make sure it fits, as blocks can be decked, heads resurfaced etc, which can make a real problem out of something that is "supposed to work" on paper.
