Who was the first prime time TV couple to be seen in a large bed? (most couples had twin beds on tv)
I was going to say the Cleavers, but I only remember seeing them in separate beds.
Then the Nelson's came to mind, but I know it wasn't them, they were much too wholesome.
The next ones that came to mind were the Bunkers but that was probably after the sinister idea of two people sleeping in the same bed was invented. People would have never figured out how to multiply if it were for watching tv with the Waltons, although they may have slept in the same bed, I can't remember. They had to.. who else could have that many kids and not sleep in the same bed once in a while?
We know it wasn't the Bundy's every member of their family was seen in bed with someone different, so it had to be before them.
Maybe it was someone who got stoned.....
I was eating fruit pebbles this morning, banging my head thinking of an answer to this, my wife came in and asked me what the heck I was doing bam, bam, bamming on the table.
I'm guessing you guys are too young to remember first hand. I'll guess it wasn't on a sitcom, but maybe was Sonnie and Cher doing a skit on their prime time show.
Black is the story, but I believe the 27 and maybe the 26 were available in a few other colors. We had a neighbor that restored one in a dark green and I believe that was the original color.
From 09 till 23 they came 3 colors-- dark green, tan, and black. To make them cheaper from 23 on they came in only black. Some where rumored to be dark blue-- but that was the model A.... :-)
Del- I know the 292 in 54 had red block - black valve covers, and accessories? 292 had an orangey block black accessories... was it the 310 that had a yellowish block? DOn't know about the 239? But I bet the accessories where black--- I know where there is on and I am going there Sat. I'll look.
