The 292 wasn't offered in the pickups in '54. I don't know about the "big job" i.e. regular trucks. '53 was the last year for the flat head 239 cu V8 in the pickups. '54 was the first year for the overhead valve V8 in the pickup and it was also 239 cu. It was a shade of yellow with black accessories.

I never seen the whole movie, but Aurthur came to mind when I read that, but I thought.. naw. can't be, I aint seen enough of it to recall anything about it.. But that was the movie with dudley moore in it right?

I cheated and looked it up, but Ford has a series of engines named after the city across from Detroit. I saw its sky line when we were just across the river from the city this summer.
