Current situation on 2003 7.3L with primary use for towing:
1. Up-Pipe Leak
2. Ford Air Box
3. Small Exhaust
4. No Chip
From all I read, I can expect surging once I open exhaust, intake, and chip the truck. So I'm considering the following:
1. Put in Tymar Intake
2. Install 4in back exhaust
3. Replace up-pipes with IH bellowed setup
4. Remove Turbo and install wicked wheel
5. Install Chip
Anything wrong with this logic, am I over-analyzing the situation ... need suggestions on the order of work...I was thinking of just cutting out the exhaust and up-pipe assembly.
I should have worded it a bit clearer...should have said I intend to use a sawzall and cutout both exhaust and up pipes....replacing with 4" exhaust and IH bellowed up-pipe.
I only want to do this once and this will the extent of the performance mods...I'd like to do a mirror upgrade at some point.

I would cut your uppipes unless you have to because all those metal shavings will fall down into your manifolds, and then when you start up they will go through your turbo. Have you already found the Bellowed up-pipes, exhaust and gauges? Drop me a call, pm or e-mail and lets see what we can do for you.
Don't be surprised if once you unbolt the passenger side up-pipe at the exhaust manifold that it doesn't just twist out of the baby's butt. Those donut gaskets don't hold tight for chit.
Definitely talk to Clay he can set you up in style. The uppipes will come out intact, just remove your stock exhaust first. If your careful you can sawzall your exhaust pipe but I agree with Clay i would not risk the metal in the manifold sawing the uppipes unless I had no other option.
