i currently have the 4r70w in my 95 F-150 with a 5.0. How hard is it to swap to the E40d. I'm wondering if the computer will work or will i have to switch that too?

It will bolt in without much problem, but the computer that operates a 4R70W will not operate an E4OD. If you change computers, you will have a computer that won't operate the engine.
To make this work you will need a custom computer to operate the system. That is not an easy task.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 07-Dec-01 AT 10:07 AM (EST)]I don't think there ever was a computer designed for a 302 with E40D, I don't think Ford ever put that combo out, I could be wrong though. I am trying to do a MAF conversion to my 460, and a 302 has the same firing order and injector pulse order, but the maf computers are designed for the AOD, not the E40D, there is no kit for the 302/460 firing order with an E40D. But there is one for the 351. :-(
E40D is much stronger, just makle sure you get one with all the updates. I think 95 is when the updated them. I had the 4R70W in my 96 and never had an issues with it.
