mine had a gash too. about an inch long. It didn't look very deep. I put about five coats and paint on it and now you can barely tell it's there. haha.

When I did my foil delete, I ended up with that tapping/pinging sound but found it really quick and rotated the pipe away from the pump. No more issues.

A dent down there is normal, but not a gash. I put a little heater hose that I had left over from my CCV mod around that bolt thing.

i just put a piece of the foam off the pipe on the bolt after i rotated the pipe just in case it does rub
instead of the foil delete mod is should be called the foil delete and check lol

You're right -- a few folks have found holes in the pipe after pulling the foil off.

hey, what is this FOIL Delete all about? new here and trying to learn how to improve my 2000 and 2002 Ex's.

this sound like a mod I need to look at.......

az2000ex the foil delete is where you take the intake(drivers side) intercooler tube and strip the foil and glue(sucks)off of it. after that clean it up with some steel wool or paint it.
