stuck caliper pin

How to remove a stuck caliper pin?

Tried hammering it out with a punch, hammering it in, twisting, all w/ rust buster.

Heat? Propane or acetylene?

What should I expect when I try to remove the rotors?
TIA

A smoke wrench should help, but I would let kroil soak on it for a couple of hours to overnight if possible.

I had the same problem last week. Could not get the pins out! Do the safe thing and buy the caliper bracket and caliper pin hardware kit, about $115 for my front end, and know your going to stop!

If they're that hard to get out, they probably won't be usable anyways. I'd feel better replacing them with new and not worrying about them freezing up again in 6 months.

The rotors came off my Ex pretty easily. My Expy was another story - had to cut through them with a grinder and break them into pieces with a sledge to get them off!

Mine with 156k miles of rust free climate came out ok but about 2 weeks after greasing the pins up and putting it all back together, there was something wrong with the caliper and I was getting smoke out of the right front wheel well. I bought a Ford "loaded" caliper for $86 from Ryan Automotive and just replaced the whole thing. So far so good.

I welded a nut to the end of the pin. Impact gun got it loose ASAP
Rotors came off easily, 1 hit each.

I did buy all new pins & bolts at the local auto parts store, $9/ side.

I was lucky that the dealership was out of stock; the bolts were $9 each plus ~$24/side for the pin kits. $84 total
