Steering wheels

Anyone know if I can buy a new RED steering wheel for my 64 F-1oo? I've found black ones new. Anyone have any luck painting them and the paint noe wearing off?

all the catalog's i have they are only available in black, i am sure you can paint them, it would be best to use a Urethane enamel product. if the prep's done right it should last a while.

Mine was painted and bondoed when I bought it. The paint flaked and the primer turned my hands black for a while. Finaly I hosed it with ether and now I got an cracked black wheel.

Carpenter has reproduced the steering wheel in black only. It looks nice but is much lighter in weight than the original.

If you wanna step up and buy a NOS RED steering wheel, I just happen to know someone that has one.
