was driving today and came to a stop sign and the truck started shaking like an injector was missing.... went through the stop sign and the truck would accelerate but shook worse the higher the RPMS were came around a corner in 4th gear and had it at WOT but the speed and RPMS kept decreasing ... went to downshift to third and the truck died as soon as i put the clutch in and wouldnt start back... changed the fuel filter and cleaned the screen about 4 or 5 hours later and the truck started and ran for like 20 seconds then died and wouldnt start back ... ANY IDEAS?
just checked cause i figured someone would ask .... the RPM needle moves when cranking ... and also when cranking it sounds like the truck is trying to start... it sounds like it is hitting on three or so cylinders but wont hit enough to start
I get mine from NAPA. The last one cost me 35.00 about 6 months ago. I do not know the part number. I do not know the answer to the tach moving or not, I just know that the cps is the most common failure on these engines. They sometimes give you a warning and other times just fail out of the blue.
Check the wiring harness plugs for UVCH also where harness crosses anything it could rub a wire and cause these problems. Autozone has cps for about 30 bucks, that would be the first thing I would try. Good luck
