Jim, do you have the 6637 mod installed? It could be the extra boost leaving the turbo and coming out of the intake.

Yep, 6637 installed.

Interesting. My initial thoughts were also turbo surge, but my understanding was that didnt occur until higher boost levels. Surge is an issue even at 10-12 on the boost? (IIRC, was mid to low-2000's in the RPM range in 80T, upper 2000's to 3000+ in 80E).

Chris: Feathering the go-pedal is my interim fix. Would like to eventually not have to worry about it.

You do know about the whoosh with the 6637 filter at higher RPM's? If this is not happening after a shift or letting off the pedal in the higher RPM's, then I would think you are getting turbo surge.

Congrats on the DP Jim!

I seem to have the same problems you are describing. Hoping my WW takes care of that when I get it installed.

What time frame are you looking at, and definitely let me know if that helps!

I do recall this happening, not sure if it's specifically post-shift (I think yes) or coming off the pedal (dont recall this one...). Will check it out next drive and report.

So if I *dont* get the woosh, it's likely surge that's making the other noise, and I need the WW.

If I *do* get the woosh, then what? I think this is where I am...

If you do get the whoosh then that is just the nature of the beast. But this is only after it shifts, mostly into OD. Or you let off the pedal with lots of RPMs.

If you get the chicken chirp with higher RPM's then it is turbo surge. And the WW will help.
