Hey if you need some advice on ball joints, I could probably help. I just did all 4 ball joints, and both front axle u-joints on an 02 F-250 4x4... It's SO much cheaper to do it yourself, BUT you should set aside a few days when you wont need your truck.. it's a bit time consuming. you'll have to rent the tools from auto zone, or advanced. DO NOT go cheap on the ball joints, or you'll be back under it in no time. The passenger side took me forever, after I figured out the tricks I did the drivers side in a few hours.
Thanks, ive been doing alot of research from a thread on this site on ball joints.. I have a few days off next week so I think illdo them then...Any tips you might give me that I may not have read? Like removing the hub assembly? Ive read you can use a 3 jaw puller or try hitting the studs with a punch tool...
well im hoping everything goes smooth and I have no problems..It seems when problems arise it has to do with removal, rusted solid parts ect....I still have to get my ball joints so I cant look at them to know this, are they filled with grease already?probably not just like tie rods..Do I fill them prior to installing them or after they are installed on truck at very end???
