351w HO rocker arm
Hey guys I was wondering if these engines had a torque to spec rockers or if I had to do the adjusting of the rockers on this engine. Lately I've been getting a clatter sound only when I put the foot to the floor and the transmission kickdowns but it doesn't do it when I put the pedal half way or nothing like that. I am going to replace the gaskets on the Valve covers so I would just figure if I should check the rocker out to see if any got loose.

There is no adjustment. They are just bolted down, there is a spec on that but it's just something like 20ftlbs.
The clatter you are hearing is probably spark knock. Put better fuel in it and see if it goes away. If it does, it's spark knock. You can keep better fuel in it, or if you want to run cheaper fuel you can adjust the timing back and or get the EGR valve working to keep it from clattering. You can also change the thermostat out to a 180 degree unit, that will help some also.
