Sorry, I will take the slack.. YOU HAVE TO HAVE GAUGES!!!!!!!! the most important gauge is the Pyro. You can get to 1200* in no time, and that isnt a great place to be for a long time in our trucks..Boost is for troubleshooting and entertainment, Trans is to help not over do it with the temps there as well.
I agree with Pat. If you don't drive aggressive and keep the EGT's in check my other gauges tend to be ok. Trans is nice to know though. Kinda like buying insurance but you only pay for it once.
A little O/T here but where are you located Shade?
I live in Brunswick, the very south east corner of Georgia. I drove the truck a lot more today and I can tell a difference now, it may not have even been completely warm last night. On the interstate I could feel a little more pick up than normal and there's a short peice of straight road that I used to play on sometimes that I hit almost 80 and I used to only get about 72. It's still not a dramatic difference like I was wanting but it is better than stock (and still not nearly enough!). I hope to get a DP or SCT tuner before long but business has been bad for the last year and $400 for a tuner just ain't in the cards right now.
If you're getting the superchips for free, I'd run it for a while since the price is right.
Have you tried 're'downloading the program again? Maybe it didn't take the first time? I've never used one so don't know if that's possible.
The thing might still be vin locked and your truck is just stock. Did you put the other truck back to stock when you took the SC off?
Yeah I returned his truck to stock before I took the chip. It's shown a little more giddie-up now, just not quite what I was expecting for 80-100 mor ponies

Ones got power and the others a turd, no comparison.. Rick, cracking up on your Supersucks quote, lol. As I mentioned in another thread, the SC worked for me when I had it, firmed up the shifts while towing and maybe a a little gain but when you decide to move to up, call up DP Tuner, their in your home state, hook up with them, you won't be happier..If it was me, get the gauges first, very important and fun to look at to boot..

Well its not really 80-100 more horses. Out of the superchip your luckey to see 60 MAX.. IF that..
I finally got enough driving done with the chip to check the mileage and even though the power isn't there that I wanted,it certainly helped my fuel mileage. I wasn't as easy on the go-pedal as I should have been for a real mileage test but I still got 1.5-2 mpg better.
Something HAS to be up, when I went from bone stock to the superchips, I saw an immediate increase across the board.
Granted its no PHP or DP, but it was a vast improvement over stock.
Are you sure you didn't have some sort of programming to begin with?
No actually Im not sure I didn't already have some sort of programing in it. I got the truck use and it has run strong the whole time I've had it but when I took it to a local dealership to have diagnostics run (camshaft positioning sensor) they told me that I need to remove th 'chip' I had in it. I took it to another dealership just out of town that I like much better and they said I don't have a 'chip' in it! So I really don't know what I had but I don't understand why someone would trade in a truck and not remove their chip. The more I drive it now the better I can tell that there are improvements it's just not what I was expecting after hearing about how great Superchips are. I think I just didn't let it get warm enough the first night I drove it home. I still want a DP or a Tony Wildman to go in it.
Shade, as has been mentioned, even though the SC is not the "cat's meow" of tuners, you should definitely notice a difference in power (and fuel mileage). I ran one in my Excursion for several years and it helped a lot. I thought I read somewhere, that once a SChips tuner was "installed" on a certain vehicle, it couldn't be installed on another, but I'm not sure about that. Just a thought.
