front end noise

I was driving today with the windows down and every time i hit a bump I heard what i can only describe as maybe tapping on metal with a hammer. Does it on both sides but have no idea what it could be. Any ideas. Thanks guys.

I had the same noise but it only appeared to be coming form the drivers side of the truck. Come to find out with only 30,000 miles on my 02 that I had bad ball joints on that side. Wouldn't have thought they would have made noise like that but.... they did.
