Installed the DieselSite coolant filter kit. Made a few changes to make it look more "factory" installed.
The kit uses two studs with bolts between the bracket and factory radiator bracket. I used a 6X20mm stainless socket bolt and two washers for the standoff.
Then instead of the screw-tight silver hose clamps, I ordered these off E-bay from Page Auto supply.
Used these to clamp the hose junction and on the filter housing. Simply straightened out the factory hose once disconnected from the reservoir, inserted the T-junction, cut the hose, connected.
I've gotten my bolts from Bolt Depot. They're reasonably priced, will fill even the smallest order, and get it to me in a couple of days. I'm slowly replacing many of the rusted bolts using their products.
Looks great, nice writeup.. I guess its hit or miss with the hood hitting, do anything different??? I got it set up now with no rad. bracket, its not going anywhere but don't want it like that..
I just responded to anouther coolant filter thread and stated that the bracket that Dieselsite provided 2 years ago has no issues at all, its nice and glossy powdercoated and fits like the factory installed it-never had any issues just bolting it in per the instructions!
