Heat Shielding

I just finished changing my 5/16" tranny cooler lines to 3/8". I noticed that both the pressure and the return lines are 1" or less from my 31/2" down pipe.

What if anything have others used to shield their lines from the DP heat? Commercial heat wrap/shield similar to the wrap on the OEM stock DP runs close to $100.00 and that is just too much "Heat"

BTW do you still have the heat wrap/shield of the OEM stock DP ? you can use it. or you can put a wrap/shield in the LINES, maybe easy and cheaper.

IIRC I still have mine, I could send it to you if you want to, just let me know.

No I no longer have the OEM shield off of the OEM DP, I'll come up with something
Never fear, cooler times are near.

Rog I would like to go to 3/8 lines as well. How did you go about doing yours? where did you get the fittings for the trans and the lines?

Heat shielding

Info for the line conversion would be welcome. Did you swap to that other cooler?

Yes I did. Ya know I just hate getting old. The other cooler that I thought was a "Fin & Tube" is really a "Stacked plate cooler" only larger. (40K). the 28K, which is also a stack plate was probably sufficient but since I was tearing everything apart I might as well do the change and sell the 28K.

Hopefully TJ will post my pix and description. (Too old, don't know how)
