Industrial supply houses like McMaster-Carr are great for this stuff. You want to look for a barbed hose fitting. I haven't seen the press-in style, but I know what you're talking about. It shouldn't be too hard to track down. It wouldn't be too hard to have a machine shop tap the hose fitting so that you could install an NPT hose fitting (which are much more common).

The engine builder tapped mine and installed a brass fitting I got from Lowe's hardware plumbing supply isle.
