No heat.

I have a 77 f150 with the 351m. The guy I bought it from in Hawaii ripped out the the heater hoses and plugged off the water outlet nipple and the water pump nipple. I bought new hoses and hooked them up to the nipples and replaced the heater core. I've been burping the system for a while now and all I can get is room temperature air. It's 30° out and I desperately need my heater. Lol. Any suggestions?

It's 30F. In Hawaii. Your profile sez that's where you're at.

Where are you at in Hawaii, on top of Mauna Kea?

OK, Is there a thermostat installed?

Sounds dumb, but did the heater core come with plugs that may still be in the passages?
Also, is it possible that the hoses are blocked off with a plate as well as a plug? Do you get coolant through the hoses? Do you maybe have the hoses hooked up backward?

When the truck gets up to temperature, do the heater hoses feel hot?

When I bought the heater core, it had caps on the ends of the nipples. I removed those. Neither of the heater hoses have a block off plate. Yes both hoses feel hot. Not extremely hot but hotter than when I first started burping the system

The flap that directs the air either past the heater core or around it might not be all the way closed off to prevent all the air from passing the heater core. Just a thought?
